St. Martin’s Chamber Choir joined with nine other choral organizations across the U.S. to commission Los Angeles composer J.A.C. Redford in a new work for chorus, piano and cello, The Destruction of Sennacherib, the text by Lord Byron. With this concert set St. Martin’s performs the work’s regional premiere. Jean Berger’s quirky and playful Skelton Poems for piano and chorus, with a text by English Renaissance poet John Skelton, which St. Martin’s recorded in the presence of the composer in 2002, makes a reappearance in concert.
